The only things not included are flights to and from the destination as well as lunch and dinner meals. While we may have meals together as a group, you will be responsible for paying for your meal. A light breakfast will be included each morning.

The recommended reading is simply a guideline to help you get the best experience out of the trip. It is intended for you to get excited about what is to come. For some trips, it will make more sense as to why we are doing certain activities if you have read the book. However, if you are purely interested in coming along for the ride without having read the recommended reading, that is totally fine. Nonetheless, take note that it may also aid in discussion and connection with others on the trip if you have read the book/s.

At Folklore & Romance, we like to keep group trips to around 5-8 people (not including the host) so that we can truly all connect with one another. The trips are intended to be intimate where you can truly get to know your fellow kindred spirit.

When a trip is live for booking, there is an application google form that needs to be filled out. This can be found on the page of the specific trip that you are interested on attending. Once you submit the form, it will be reviewed. If you have been selected, you will be invited to have a zoom meeting with Danielle. This is an informal meeting where you can ask Danielle any questions that you have and she can get to know you a little better. All participants will need to partake in a zoom meeting with Danielle. This helps her ensure that the groups are women only and it creates a safe space for all participants. If there are no issues during the zoom call, you will be invited to pay for the trip (at least half up front and the remaining half must be paid a month before the trip happens). About a week before the trip, Danielle will host a group zoom call with all of the participants of the trip where everyone can introduce themselves and ask questions that they might have. If you cannot attend the call, a recording will be sent to you. There will also be a Whatsapp group created for the trip that participants will be encouraged to use before, during, and after the trip to stay connected.
